Elite-Viper – “Elite Regiment Officer”

header_articulation

Elite ViperI have noticed that most Rise of Cobra figures have great articulation, superior to many G.I. Joe 25th anniversary figures, and the Elite-Viper is no exception. The figure has full movement of his arms and legs. He can hold his weapon in many positions, including the “to the shoulder” position, which is much appreciated.

One of my favorite features, this figure can successfully “take a knee”, or kneel down on one leg and support himself, with or without a stand. This is a common tactical position, but many 25th figures had a hard time with this position, so it is very nice that this figure does not suffer the same issues.

The Elite-Viper can look left and right with ease, he can also look down somewhat, but like most other Hasbro figures, he lacks the ability to truly look UP. This limitation is very annoying, but has become standard on all the modern Hasbro figures.

Elite ViperThe overall paint job on the Elite-Viper is good. Apart from the weathered pads, he is essentially wearing a one color uniform, and there were no discolorations or other blemished that I could notice. The weathered parts are very nice, they look worn without going overboard. His boots are solid black, but that works fine.

The paint job for the Elite-Viper’s head is a little odd, he has a shiny black mask. It is the only part of the figure that is painted glossy, and it is a little strange at first, but I have come to like it.

The neck under the head is also painted a flat-black, which is nice as there is no skin-tone to match if using the figure for customs.
