A Weekend of Heroes 2010 Report! *Updated!*

I made sure to ask Tony about the *VERY MUCH DEMANDED* A-10 Thunderbolt II “Warthog” in 1:18 scale, and he unfortunately did not have an answer for me. He said he has been pushing for it to get made, even telling JSI that it would be a much better investment than making the F-15 right now.

Hopefully they will listen this time, as the A-10 has got to be the most requested piece out there by now. Seriously.

Tony did pretty much confirm that the JSI J-11BS/Su-27UBK is going to be made, as it will most likely be a popular item in China. Hopefully it will make it here before too long. Tony was explaining to me how massive the model was though, noticeably bigger than the F-14A, and thus there are lots of shipping considerations to be worked out before it will be ready to  sell here. I’m hopeful that it’ll show up and be as impressive as we all hope, though I’m hoping the price tag is somewhat reasonable.

Merit was showing off a custom Richard Bong “Marge” P-38 Lightning, which had some amazing weathering on it, as well as the upcoming JSI F-104, which actually didn’t look too bad, considering my opinions on F-104s! I talked to Tony about JSI working on their weathering process, and hopefully it will look a little more realistic in the future.

So there is my report on A Weekend of Heroes 2010, a little late, but finally done. Thanks!

  1. The new P-38 “Marge” looks fantastic, as do the Merit Soldiers.

The Iranian F-14 is starting to grow on me.

Thank you again for the recon and subsequent intel on these lines, as your insight is always appreciated.
