G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra Game Review

All Characters have their own class.  These classes are important as you need a mixture of them in order to complete the game and unlock everything.  As I mentioned earlier,  you will run into doors that only a certain class can open.  For example a Commando class is a more agile and can climb over a ledge and open a door from the other side.  The 3 classes in the game are Soldier,  Heavy Weapons and Commando.  Soldiers are your all around characters like Duke, Ripcord, and Beachhead.  Heavy Weapons are your big hitters like Gung Ho, Heavy Duty and Flash.  Commando’s are your stealth and agile Joes like Helix, Kamakura and of course Snake Eyes.

You want to search for these Class Doors as that is how your going to unlock most characters.  In order to experience everything in the game you need to be on the look out for hidden items as well.  You have plenty of nuggets to find and unlock throughout the game that really add replay value.  It’s almost impossible to find everything in one play through.  As a Joe fan,  these items really add to the overall experience.  You will unlock bonus missions,  concept art,  75 File cards,  and PSA’s from the cartoons.

At the end of each level your are awarded battle points depending on your point total on the level.  The goal is to get a Gold medal on each level.  These battle points help you unlock hidden characters as well as adding a some replay value and fun to the game.  You can earn extra points by getting combo kills and charging up melee attacks.  In order to get all the Trophies/Achievements you need to get a Gold medal on each level.

RoC has a multiplayer mode however it is very limited.  Zero online play,  which is almost unheard of in this day and age of gaming.  The game does feature a Co Op mode.  You must both be on the same system to do this.  I did play a few levels with a buddy as you need to in order to get all Trophies/Achievements.  I will say that it was fun but this game should have had an online Co Op mode.  Being able to play this game online would have added to the experience.
