Hard Corps: Uprising Review

One of the most interesting parts of any Contra game is the weapons.  In Uprising you can swap between two weapons that you can carry.  You will have your standard rifle,  machine gun,  the famous spread gun,  crush/grenade gun,  heat/flamethrower gun and a homing/chain laser and more.  In most cases I preferred the machine gun and spread shot.

It’s not a Contra game unless you can play with a friend.  In Hard Corps: Uprising you can complete the game in Co Op mode in both online and offline.  In online play I didn’t experience any lag or extra load time which is a bonus.

Uprising is a perfect addition to the Contra Universe.  Besides a few small complaints like the anime cartoon graphics,  the lack of the Contra name,  the frustration from getting my butt kicked and some brutal checkpoints.  I’m pleased with this game.  I score it a 7 out of 10.  Anybody who has played an old school Konami game is familiar with the “Konami Code”.  The code is in the game however it won’t do what your expecting.

This review was done exclusively for the Playstation 3 version however it is available on both PSN and XBLA for $14.99.
