Say it ain’t so, Joe!

Well, sounds like GI Joe Retaliation will be put on the back burner for a few months. Thanks to Charade for showing us the General Joes article and to Paul Pratt of the hisstank.com forums for some good links regarding the details.  It’s hard to believe that with just over a month it was supposed to be in theaters, fans now have to wait a pregnancy term to see the long awaited film.

Why do such a thing?  Sounds like they want to go 3D.  Seems a little late to pull that card but hey, they know what makes money.  Right?  Now what does this mean for the toys?  With that long of a wait can a line that is already hanging by a thread survive?  Will the ROSS sighting thread start blowing up in a few months?  Only time will tell.

One thing is for sure, this will not go over well with the majority of fans.  For anyone that wants to complain here is the place to do so.  Maybe it will help, maybe it won’t.  All you can do is voice your opinion and hope for the best.  Here are a few links to get more information:

About Anthony Spatucci

I was brought into collecting when the GI Joe 25th anniversary came out. After dealing with repaints and sub par vehicles I started searching around for something a little better. A friend turned me onto the fighting 118th and I started moving towards a more realistic "verse" for my figures. After seeing a few dioramas from members on the site I got the bug for them. There is a certain quality of person that contributes to the site and that is what has kept me coming back. Everyone is honest about what your work can have better and really helps you to get the best out of yourself. I am MAJOR BLOOD on the site.

  1. They hire a guy who directed a Bieber video when you had other directors experienced in the action genre like John Wu and “surprise” the test audience didn’t like it. Plus the figure line during the delay needs to be ovehauled with more articulation and having Cobra troopers not in neon blue but in urban, desert, and woodland camo while keeping the helmet and ballaclava. If you wanted it in 3d you should have shot in 3d beforehand.PPPPP!! The Tatum thing is beyond me. I guess there had be some connection to ROC and Retaliation for Paramount’s decision. If i were Hasbro I would release more DG figuresuntil March. This would hopefully appeal to fans and colectors stung by the postonement as an apology and help motivate them to get them in the movie seats come March. Just my 2 cents.

  2. The worst thing since 9/11.
