Killzone 2 Review

The online game modes are Bodycount,  Search and Retrieve,  Capture and Hold,  Assassination and Search and Destroy.  In Killzone 2 up to 32 players can play at a time.  Bodycount was my personal favorite,  as it’s the basic Team Deathmatch and it’s what I’m familiar with the most in FPS games.  Search and Retrieve is another fun mode that is basically Capture the Flag.  Capture and Hold is a zone based match,  similar to Conquest.

Search and Destroy gives one team the task of blowing up a location on the map with 2 sets of explosives.  The other team needs to stop them within the time limit.  Finally,  Assassination marks one player on a team as a priority kill.  The longer he lives,  the more points that team racks up.

The real fun part about Warzone is the constant changing objectives.  You will start the match in Bodycount,  than it might switch to Assassination, followed by Capture and Hold and than back to Bodycount etc. It keeps the matches fresh and exciting. It also almost completely eliminates the most annoying thing in all FPS games,  campers.

You have 7 different classes that you can choose for your character.  You have a primary and a secondary class.  You can switch these on the fly if you choose after each death.  You can play with all the different classes to figure out which one suits your playing style. The classes range from Filed Medics that can revive and heal teammates to Engineers who place and repair Turrets to Saboteurs who can be disguised as your enemy for quick kills.

Everything you do during Warzone,  adds to your experience to level up.  You destroy a turret,  place a bomb,  heal a teammate,  capture a flag or kill an enemy etc.  Gaining experience allows you to unlock new abilities and weapons.  You can also earn Ribbons that will help you obtain the over 15 available weapons.
