Killzone 2 Review

The main disc is pre loaded with 8 multiplayer maps.  The maps are exceptional and are vast enough and detailed enough to handle all game modes.  The maps are very well done and have many treasures and unique areas.

Killzone 2 also has Down Loadable Content Maps available.  These are broken up into 3 separate packs with 2 maps on each pack.  1 pack is loaded with maps from Killzone 1,  while the other 2 have brand new maps.  The DLC titled “Napalm and Cordite” also added the addition of the flamethrower and boltgun along with the new maps.  I definitely recommend all the DLC maps and you can now purchase them as a bundle for $11.99.

You also have a chance to play an offline multiplayer mode called Skirmish.  This mode can be used to try out for clans or to be used to learn the maps.  In Skirmish you can select bots as enemies.  Bots will take the place of human opponents and are highly trained AI.

Overall I was thrilled with the Online mode.  Warzone was loads of fun with the dynamic matches played through the 5 game modes.  A great variety with the 7 classes,  several weapons and 14 available maps including DLC added to the experience.

Killzone 2 was and is one of my favorite games ever. It’s the total package and a must own in my opinion. The game has a excellent campaign,  sports some of the greatest visuals ever done,  a deep rewarding extensive online mode and fantastic audio.  I give this game a 10 out of 10.  Killzone is only available for the Playstation 3 and has trophy support.
