Battlefield 3 Review

A huge selling point of Battlefield 3 is the ability to control vehicles.  You get the opportunity to fly F-18’s,  drive Abram Tanks and Humvees  among many other vehicles.  The problem is the controls for these vehicles are horrible.  No way to sugar coat it,  the learning curve is very steep and trying to learn how to fly a Jet during a big online skirmish isn’t very fun at all.

I would get very excited seeing a Helicopter waiting for me to hop in it and start gunning down Russians.  I would jump in the Helo,  barely take off and than crash into the ocean because I felt like I had zero control of the thing.  Battlefield veterans would chuckle and make fun of my CoD preferences.  I thought the controls would get better over time,  I was wrong.

One of the things that made up for the lack of controls was the superb sound quality.  The audio is amazing,  you will hear every bullet whizzing by you and in you.  The explosions and gun fire feel legit and sounds of the vehicles are the best I’ve ever heard.
