Duke Nukem Forever Review

DNF features a few Down Loadable Content packages that I honestly never took the time to experience.  I played the game for a few weeks,  beat the story mode,  did some trophy hunting,  toyed around online and traded the game in.  In case you’re wondering,  the DLC is available in 3 separate packs.

The first DLC was a pre order bonus that features Big Heads(remember when that was cool 15 years ago?),  a ego boost and a custom in game T-shirt.  The next DLC featured some new game modes,  4 new online maps and a few new weapons.

The last DLC actually seems interesting and features a new single player campaign titled “The Doctor Who Cloned Me”.  This DLC features the return of Dr. Proton and also has new weapons and online maps.

Overall Duke Nukem Forever is a disappointment.  I’m a huge Nukem fan and tried to enjoy the game but it just didn’t live up to my expectations.  I’m happy that the game was finally released and the series can move on from it’s troubled past.  The game does hint that a new title is in the making,  lets just hope that it doesn’t take another 15 years.

If this games was released when it was suppose to,  it would have been more fun and most likely had a better score.  Despite being a video game legend,  DNF receives a 5 out of 10.  I refuse to turn my back on Duke and will continue to support the series,  lets hope the next game brings him back to his glory days.  This game was reviewed exclusively for Playstation 3 and is also available for Xbox360 and PC.
