SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs Review

The campaign isn’t very long,  and has minimal replay value.  I completed the story in about 7 hours and replayed a few missions for trophies.  I won’t ruin the story but your entire team doesn’t survive the mission.

The graphics didn’t impress me that much, everything looked average too me.  This might be for several reasons,  the main reason being that the game is played in a small area that eventually starts to look the same.  Another reason is the 3rd person aspect of the game.  It might just be me but it seems like 1st person shooters present themselves better graphically.

The voice acting is the best part of the game.  The teams are constantly communicating to each other and when you give orders to the team they always respond accordingly.  Your team members will call out enemy actions and congratulate you on good shots as well. The sound effects and music fit the game very well however neither will blow you away.

The controls are challenging in the beginning stages of the game.  SOCOM 4 has a in game tutorial that teaches you the controls.  I wasn’t truly comfortable with the controls until the final hour or so in the campaign mode.
