SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs Review

My favorite online mode was Suppression as I was most comfortable with it.  SOCOM isn’t your typical run and gun modern shooter.  When you are playing online,  you need to be tactical,  hiding in the trees and picking your shots.  You won’t experience very many shootouts as you have a more realistic reaction to being shot than most games.

You will level up your character by earning kills and completing objectives.  You can also rank up your weapons earning mods and making them more efficient and powerful.  SOCOM 4 has leader boards, online trophies, clans and several custom choices like how many rounds,  re-spawns and  the option for regenerative health etc.

The SOCOM series has been around for a long time and has it’s die hard fans.  You are either a fan of the game or your not and that’s okay.  I’m personally not a fan of the game.  I enjoyed the squad based tactics and loved the online Co Op mode however I’m more of a Call of Duty type of man.

SOCOM 4 could have benefited from a longer single player campaign mode and a more powerful graphics engine.  I’m happy to finally experience a SOCOM game and I will continue to keep an open mind for future titles.  This game is exclusive to the Playstation 3 system and I give it a 6 out of 10.
