Medal of Honor 2010 vs 2012?

  • #4.  Finally, the music!

The whole reason I’m writing this! The music!

Ramin Djawadi did the soundtracks for both games. He’s also done the soundtracks for the first Iron Man movie, along with the TV shows Prison Break and Game of Thrones.

Initially I was blown away by how universally great the music was, so much so that I actually ordered the soundtrack off of Amazon.com the same day I started playing the game.

It reminded me of a mix between Black Hawk Down and.. something else epic. Each track just “took” me to where I would have heard it in-game. It was really an immersive musical experience. I highly recommend anyone who enjoys instrumental soundtracks to give it a listen. It still ranks as one of my favorites.

That being said, I had really REALLY high hopes for the Warfighter soundtrack.

… and … it was just OK. Not bad, but not great either. I actually pre-ordered it because I was so excited for it, and after listening to it a few times, I figured maybe I needed to play the game first. After I played through the game, a few tracks stood out for me, but nothing like the original soundtrack. For some reason it just sounds more like generic action music, except for the pieces that use music from the original game.

There is not a lot I can recommend other than these two tracks.
