X Review: Storm Shadow

review-sculpt01

Again, the sculpt is a piece of recycled ROC trash. While I’ve heard others talk about how interesting Storm Shadow’s attire was on a couple of these versions, I just feel they were nothing special. And to me, they didn’t even suit Storm Shadow. This one’s no different. It’s not Storm Shadow to me. It’s missing the belt/skirt of the ROC versions, and there’s a gap in his back where the scabbards were fused into place with a ton of glue.

The head, I’m not sure about. I can’t tell if it’s new or from something else. I do know Hasbro intends to use it on their second version of movie Red Ninjas.

review-articulation01

Articulation isn’t terrible. Most of my complaints are fixed on the sculpt itself, but he moves pretty well. I’ve seen some complaints about his hips, but mine don’t seem to suffer the same floptastic fate.

So, the articulation is as follows: Head, shoulders, elbows, swivel-and-bend wrists, torso, hips, double-knees, ankles. It’s unfortunate that Hasbro will throw the rocker ankles on non-ninjas, but skip it on a ninja character. Whatever.

As a side note, don’t expect many good bow and arrow poses without doing some cutting on the fingers to hold the arrow. Right now, it doesn’t do very well at all. 10 attempts to get it to stay in place for one picture.

  1. Not the greatest Storm Shadow I have ever seen but still a collectible figure. I makes me want to have Hasbro produce more figures in a faster time table than they are. I want more figures availablle;that way the better the choice.
