review-sculpt01

Retooled Shock Trooper/30th Trooper torso, and new arms, legs, and head(s). The helmeted head is reminiscent of a HALO trooper, which is pretty cool in and of itself! It’s pretty rare that a ‘nondescript’ character would get a nearly complete new sculpt before named characters, but in this case it’s a nice change of pace. It’s a shame, obviously, that what went into this figure could have gone into improving some of the others released during Wave 1, but I’m not going to complain.

It’s a great figure, and there’s a ton of customizable options that would give more reason to have several of these as a squad, or just one of them as a single soldier standing guard. There’s great creases, folds, pockets and pouches spread out all over the place, and it all comes together into a figure that just works.

review-articulation01

Fantastic articulation on this one. Head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, torso, double-knees, and rocker ankles. Everything a collector or a kid would want in their toy! He can dip, bend, crouch, kick… and hell, he can super-split-karate-ninja-kick if you really want him to! What I’m saying is, he’s got excellent articulation, and pretty much will do everything you want him to. At least until they figure out something else to take articulation that is already great, and make it even better.

  1. Great review! I’ve never seen these (or any other Retaliation figure) on Australian pegs.

  2. I’ve said this before, but I really think this figure was meant for the 30th line or elsewhere and was repurposed into the movie line – that’s the only reason I can think of for the big disparity in articulation between this and any other non-ninjas in wave one.
