review-sculpt01

Articulation aside, it’s an okay sculpt. It shares a lot in common with the Wave 1 single carded version, but the torso is redone to get rid of those unsightly sculpted-in straps. It’s suitably large and imposing compared to other figures, with bulging muscles and slightly veiny arms. There’s creases and pockets and folds where there ought to be, and the boots even have some nicely sculpted laces. The head is a fair representation of Dwayne Johnson’s, too.

At the same time, it doesn’t seem large enough. It’s tall and musclebound and imposing, but the legs seem too skinny, and he just doesn’t seem big enough to fit that role.

review-articulation01

The sculpt is nice enough, but the articulation is crap. He has all the basic movement, sure. If you’re a customizer it will be easy to fix what Hasbro screwed up. But from the box, he doesn’t do much more than basic poses.

Head, shoulders, elbows, swivel-wrists, torso, hips, single-knee. The single carded version shares this fate as well. What good is a guy that is supposed to use heavy weapons if you can’t pose him effectively?
