SDCC 2013: Day 3 News

Saturday at the con starts off at 10am. You can find the full schedule of today’s events HERE!

Now, we’re going to kick this off with the best news we found yesterday. For a Fighting 1:18th Exclusive, our fearless leader NSA sat down with the guys at Merit and caught both video and some great pictures of the AV-8B Harrier being assembled. As a tidbit of information, it’s slated to run between $250 and $300, and see release during the first quarter of 2014, but with luck it might see the light of day Christmas of this year. You can find more information and a ton of pictures HERE!

In further G.I. Joe news, member Duffmann spoke with Hasbro Rep, Mark Ditimossa, and was able to get a few tidbits of information to pass on to the rest of us. Some of the more important bits of that conversation were that 2014 will see the 50th Anniversary line, and may be Target exclusive. You can find more tidbits he found, as well as some pictures that were taken by Officer TofuJesse, HERE!

We’ve already heard some of the news about the Marvel Universe line with the rebranding, and the last wave of the Marvel Universe line, and you’ll find that information as well as a great bunch of pictures, HERE!

NSA had a chance to talk to Joel Alicea, who works for The Bridge Direct, the company producing the Hobbit figures. He found out some great news about the line, and that it would be continuing with Wave 2. However, due to legality reasons with Warner Brothers wanting to keep things close to the vest, they couldn’t reveal much. He did say that they were fans of 1:18th scale, and they even plan on trying to give us fans a 1:18 scale Smaug! Check out more information and pictures HERE!

We had NSA hitting up a lot of the booths for information yesterday, which included Godzilla! We’re not going to act like we know a lot about one of the best Japanese monsters to become an American cult classic, but he scored us with a lot of excellent pictures HERE!

Moderator Mandingo Rex got another awesome bunch of pictures. This time he focused primarily on all the cosplay that was going on at and around the convention. The pictures may elicit feelings of awesome, so be warned! You can find the gallery HERE!

All in all, Friday wasn’t a bad showing. We’re not expecting much more today, but some companies like to hold off their surprises till the last minute. We’ll be sure to find them and get them up here for you if we can!

Thanks to everyone getting us all the great pictures and information, and be sure to join in on the conversation here in the catchall thread, and in our live chat!
