X Review: Ultimate Cobra Commander

Good ol’ C.C. is molded primarily in blue, which is a bit darker than the baby blue shade of his 25th versions. There’s a great big red cobra sigil on his chest, silver buttons and buckles, and another red cobra sigil on his belt. Chrome paint adorns his battle mask, giving it a nice mirrored finish, and the eyes are nicely painted on the hooded head, along with another red cobra sigil in the center of the forehead. All in all, the paint job is nice on this figure. I wonder why this one got so much care and others have been slightly ‘meh’ with the paint apps. Or worse.

The Commander doesn’t come with much as far as accessories go. Considering what most of his case-mates come with, that is. He’s got his helmet, knife, gun, extra head, helicopter pack, two bombs, and a stand.

Despite there not being much, it works. Even the helicopter pack, though its form is far superior to its function. You press the large button on the side, and the propellor turns. Once. It has no free-spinning action. A smaller button below that opens the bomb door, releasing the two bombs that are probably filled with Compound Z.
