X Review: Cobra Combat Ninja

review-paint01

The figure is cast in a light gray, allowing for the applications of the multicolored digital camo, black on the shoulders, cobra symbol on the left side, and the tiny bit of detailing on the bit of face seen under the mask. There is some paint missing from the pre-production photos we saw of this figure, though. Without the vest, the camo has great coverage, but it’s broken up with the vest. The black for the straps on the vest is gone, and on the right hip it isn’t as prevalent. All in all, though, it’s still a pretty good job. Frankly, if we hadn’t seen the pre-production paint job, we wouldn’t even know anything was missing.

As with most figures released lately, the ‘Combat Ninja’ comes with a great assortment of accessories. Besides the extra head, there’s a great helmet, the vest, 3 rifles of various origin and a submachine gun(I won’t ever claim to know a thing about guns. Sometimes I know them, sometimes not), a ninja sword and scabbard(for that total ninja feel!), the missile launcher we got with Resolute Firefly and the POC Viper but recast in blue, a great cobra flag, and a stand.

Unfortunately, he has some trouble holding the flag, and he can’t carry all his guns at the same time, but frankly, I don’t care that much. It’s great to have some variety, and these guys will probably be standing with the rest of my Shock Troopers anyway.
