Ages 25 and Up Rewind

First up is File #15 “Breaker’s Big Score”.  I remember when this file was first released I was excited to see the next evolution in the Ages 25 and Up Universe.  Numbers had just finished a lengthy alternate universe story arc and it was time to continue his main verse.  Like most of the Files in the early days, the comic featured the original Joes who I have a special nostalgic feeling for.  Enough of my rambling, check out the comic:

One of the main things that really stood out was the detail in the dialogue.  Certain characters having their own speech bubble designs like Scarlett’s pink and Snake Eye’s black was a nice touch.  The “chat room” conversation was perfectly done and look at that giant computer!  Clutch is without a doubt the main star of the entire Ages 25 and Up and you get some samplings of it here.  More occupied with the bachelor party than his buddy getting hitched.  Finally you will notice the sense of humor that is portrayed in the last panel as well as the whole comic.  This is classic Numbers and classic Ages 25 and Up here.

This may be hard for you guys to believe but 1337W422102 is in fact human and does make mistakes.  You will notice in the last panel at the strip club that Scarlett is giving Grunt a lap dance…  Check out what Numbers has to say about it:

I should mention that planning ahead kind of screwed me over in this story. The final panel of File #15 features the Comic Pack 25th Anniversary Scarlett figure. I’d planned a story in which that figure would appear, but not as Scarlett. (That story would begin in File #20) Thing is, while I knew the Comic Pack figure wasn’t Scarlett, no one else did because I hadn’t introduced her yet! I think I had the whole mess sorted out in File #22 though.
