This figure really runs both hot and cold at the same time, and it’s a shame, because the sculpt, for instance, is fantastic! There are spikes and straps and excellent, excellent detail throughout. But, what really sets this apart from other figures in the line, beyond the super detail, is the head. The clenched teeth, furrowed brow, and deeply set black eyes really pull a sense of realism. That along with the rest of the extreme detail has Kurse looking like he’s ready to destroy everything on your shelf!
One thing I forgot to take a picture of is Kurse’s size. He’s just about a head taller than most of the other figures, so that helps to aid the imposing nature about him.
And then we run cold and underwhelming. Like the other figures, he suffers. There’s some decent articulation there, but it’s only half there, so you only get a half-poseable figure. So you get the head, shoulders, elbows, good ball hips, thigh swivel, and ball knees. All that detail, and he can’t even rotate his hands.
