X Review: Avengers Assemble Black Widow

review-sculpt01

I’m still quite partial to the sculpt, articulation issues aside. It’s a good, solid representation of Black Widow. She’s feminine, she’s bad ass, and she’ll look good beating the shit out of you. This version of Natasha has a face that’s more ScarJo than cartoon, with some windblown red hair. It’s not bad. And, there’s no loss of detail between the movie version Black Widow and now.

review-articulation01

Articulation is okay, though we’re still missing a torso joint or a waist swivel. It’s these tiny things that could have made a world of difference. Articulation issues aside, she poses fairly well. So, as before, you have her head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, ball hips, thigh swivel, double-knees, and the bad attempt at the rocker ankle. Unfortunately, she also is cursed with the ball hips that don’t allow for decent movement, so it’s a chore with posing. I said she posed WELL. I didn’t say she was EASY.
