X Review: Avengers Assemble Iron Man

review-sculpt01

Overall, the sculpt isn’t terrible. It’s immediately recognizable, and there’s lots of panel lines and detailing for his armor. I really have no complaints here aside from the more cartoony feel. And since it’s for a cartoon, it certainly makes sense, though I much prefer things to look a little more real versus cartoony.

review-articulation01

Articulation is “okay” for the most part, but it certainly has a load of faults that really gives it a swift kick to knock it down. And then kicks it again to be sure. Much of the fault is in the head that seems to constantly point down. So, Iron Man is perpetually sad. “Oh bother. I am Iron Man. I guess.”

Anyway, the rest of the articulation is decent, though it does miss key points that should have been included. Head (which points down), shoulders, elbows, torso, good ball hips, thigh swivel, and ball knees. So, if you were counting, that means it’s missing wrists and ankles, which really restricts some good heroic poses.
