File #69 Part 9:

69_-_a_real_american_teamup__part_9

Okay I can’t not comment on this one. Deadpool was written and shot perfectly! I would love to see a spin off story featuring Deadpool because Numbers has him down. Captain America’s tragic death was epic. He continued with his trash talking banter and he was taken out by a Canadian! A Canadian! Blasphemy!

File #70 Part 10:

Lets get some final thoughts from Numbers:

“I did my best to channel Joe Kelly era Deadpool in #69, from back when the character was good, and not aimed at “lolsorandum XD” teenagers. I think I might have overdone it, so I’ll leave whether or not it works up to you guys. That whole “Death of Captain America” thing that was happening at around that time had the piss taken out of it with A25U Cap getting shanked by Deadpool. Of course, he had to go out with a chain-combo attack of ridiculous anachronisms in #70.

Only, he wasn’t dead. Because, hey, who dies in comics, right? Cobra captured the Cap, apparently nursed him back to health, and seemingly converted him to the Cobra Cause, for Cobra’s goals seem to line up conveniently with the Cap’s love of manifest destiny. Now of course, he came returned to the comic when the Commander gave him a suit of powered armour and a new mission – defeat the combined forces of Destro and Decepticon Bludgeon, as well as the White Knight known as the Batmad! But that’s a whole other story…”
