Jack Reacher 2013 Movie Review

Jack Reacher is a former military cop who now lives in the United States as a ghost. His entire childhood was spent over seas as a military child. Apon adulthood he entered the Military and was always stationed abroad.  His first step on the soil he fought for was the day he left the military.

This movie is basically a giant police drama.  It starts with the crime from a snipers perspective.  He is methodically putting various people into his sights suggesting that he is looking for his target.  Just when you think it may be a random killing he unloads on each and every person in the exact opposite order he originally targeted them in. This was probably my favorite scene in the movie.  A man is found and charged with the crime. Enter Jack Reacher played by Tom Cruise to find the motive and the truth.

My verdict…………I would give this movie a 6.5 out of 10 stars. I liked Cruise’s portrayal of the character and I liked the character himself.  Reacher himself could be a fun movie character in the future. He doesn’t care about the law or evidence, only what is right.  It had its intended thriller moments but I could see them coming as well as the twist. It just didn’t put me on the edge of my seat like a thriller movie should and lagged at times. After saying that, I did enjoy the action when involved. There are quite a few quick fight scenes that I enjoyed. None of the guy doesn’t get hurt till the 10th punch fights. The fights came off very realistic and believable. There was also one nice car scene. I am happy movies are bringing them back again to have an impact action wise in a movie.  Robert Duvalls role may have been limited, but he was good for a few laughs.

I hope you enjoyed another of Meddatron’s movie reviews, Thanks for reading!
