Default SNES Classic

Super Nintendo Entertainment System?: Super NES Classic Edition ? Official site

Apparently this is the newest brewing shitstorm in gaming culture. Appears it's presold-out everywhere. Normally I wouldn't give a damn, but it has EarthBound on it, and if you follow classic SNES prices you know what that fucker goes for these days.

Someone tell me I'm better off building a Raspberry Pi kit.

Yeah I kind of half heartedly tried this morning to get one.. but didn't succeed.

They're selling on eBay for like $300 now.. crazy.

I never had a SNES as a kid so it doesn't really hit the nostalgia bone for me, but I think the kids would get a kick out of it.

They're supposed to be pretty easy to set up, right?

Very. I run Kodi on mine with Retropi, can play sega games, Atari even arcade classics. Here's a pretty simple overview

I highly recommend the N30 Pro by 8bitdo

N30 Pro and F30 Pro Controllers | 8Bitdo

works great with tablets (I have android), smart phones (galaxy s8 here) and works great with all. Takes a bit more with pi but again awesome. a wired 360 controller also works too

I really enjoy having the pi in my home theater setup. I can play games, stream movies and even play them from my digital library really effortlessly. I do recommend getting a power supply with a power switch inline due to the pi not having one, or use a powerstrip with a toggle. Saves on unplugging the power cord and re-plugging it to turn it on when everything else tucks away so effortlessly. I would also recommend a USB wireless keyboard for any of the typing you might do, just having less wires. I have my pi attached via Velcro to the back of the tv and I never have to physically touch it, small and out of sight.

this is the keyboard I use for it, works great. the dongle just plugs in and no other settings or code is needed to use it.

My wife bought me an SNES Classic yesterday, and with my DSA Toy Theater, SWBF2:EA, and Elder Scrolls online: Morrowind....Damn, I'm going to be busy.

This mini console is fantastic, the game selection for the pricepoint is amazing.
