the 5.7 rounds arent in common use and are expensive. One of the reasons I didnt get something chambered in .357Sig is the cost and availability of ammo

Yea, it needs the hammer to strike the flint but that's about it I think. Haven't seen it in about 2 years. I was thinking glow sights and a mag on it. Here's the other one.

Once I come back from my trip next month I'm going to start looking into something newer than what I have.

Not off the top of my head. Here's some markings.

It's got initials carved into the stock too. Pretty cool old piece.

Major Blood- I don't know shotguns as well as my pop and brother. I could send the pics to them and ask if they're familiar with it, if you don't mind.

YT- the replacement furniture looks great!

A 590A1 is on the list to replace my 500A for home use and allow the 500A to be my duck gun.
Still trying to decide if I should build my own AR or buy something already ready. The bad part about being in CA is everything is neutered.
Hopefully Ill have bought my new tv next month and then I can put some $ down on a gsg5
I like the PX-4 a lot. It's my "concealable" pistol. I have big hands and don't feel comfortable with anything my pinky hangs off of. Being 9mm, the ammo is reasonable and it's pretty accurate out to 25M. It feels a lot better than a 92 to me. The grip is way better for larger hands, IMO. Lots of polymer so it's light and modern. I haven't shot it as much lately, having picked up the FNP (and just generally not getting to the range as much). Extended mag holds 20 (not in CA though ).

I love the FNP. It has a better trigger, IMO than any other pistols I have used. It's also very light (ofsets the weight of those 15 .45 rounds when loaded), powerful and accurate. It's more of a field gun for me though, too big to conceal easily.

I love AR's but my recent obsession has been the ACR. It is finally coming down into reality for pricing. I am really looking forward to popping the cherry on mine (if I can ever get some range time).

I'd definitely buy an AR over building one. S&W makes a lot of nice models that are reasonably priced. Go with an M&P-15PS or PSX (gas piston) if you can pull the coin together. It will save you oodles of cleanup time.

He also brought a FN chambered in 5.56, but I guess it shoots near AR velocity and it was not allowed. Hella nice looking gun.
Wow, that 2 hours must have flown by! That had to be a lot of fun! Judge = nice! I really want to check one out sometime. FN does make a nice weapon (pistol, rifle, LMG) but I don't think I'd ever buy anything in 5.7mm. From what I understand, the civilian rounds are toned way down from the original, which were quite lethal, without significant recoil. And yeah the ammo is way expensive.

Problem with an MP5 (GSG) is that, if you want a stock (rifle), they have to stretch out the barrel to comply with the law and that pretty much defeats the concept of its design. I'd probably opt for a pistol version with a nice bungee sling to stablize it when shooting. That's how my PLR is set up. JM2CW.

]These are my two babies:

Edith: M1917 Eddystone. Chambered .30'06

Emily: 1944 Lee-Enfield No. 4, Mk III. Chambered British .303

Got them both from a buddy for under 600 bucks. Quite a deal for what they're going for now.

Hold on a sec Red, I have a pic- ok, nevermind. That didn't come out so well. It's stamped 1917. As far as I can tell- from my admittedly limited research- all the parts are original and matched to the rifle. I'd have to take it to a professional to tell.

Pretty sure the Enfield is Canadian. Who knows about the '17. It's so lightly used that I think it may have been in storage, as there was an insane amount of camomile on it. The bore still needs a heavy cleaning. Anyone have any suggestions for bore cleaning fluid?

I have no idea, it's been behind glass since I was a kid. That's the first time I have pulled it out of the shadow box in the 8yrs I've had it. It's sewn in place, so I don't dare try to take it off the backboard.

Here is the history on the back of the shadow box:
