Except this time it is not Iran. Iran said the Shite/Sunni war is more important and Hamas is on the opposing side. Iran and Hezzbollah will focus on Israel once ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood have been routed. They are too busy supporting Iraq and Syria from a serious threat at this time.

I truthfully have a secret clearance, but since I'm not in the need to know, I don't know.

When I get to a computer, I'll respond to this. I've been on the road all week and I hate typing long messages on my phone.

I will say I was wrong in my "100%" assertion as it's a gross exaggeration.

This pisses me off to no end. Do you guys think they are of the same type we sell to Egypt (sans Chobham armor) or are they our front line MBTs that we did not feel like shipping home? How must it feel for our pilots to take out an Abrams? You would think we would be protective of those out of production chassis.

I am certain those Abrams are far from as capable as ours. No chance they have the most advanced (read: the stuff that makes them nearly unbeatable) goodies on them.

So they just gave them the Marine's impotent 105mm versions?

Potentially. That may be what they gave to Egypt as well. Lord knows the DOD must have a billion 105mm rounds to sell off. 'Course now they have that "sexy" Stryker AGS now to use some of them...

These will be the M1A1s we sold them through FMS. Like Russia's export armor, these won't be top of the line. Still, not something you want these guys having.

We really should be equipping the Kurds deal with this shit.

Why would we do that when we can put our aviators under the shadow of the aforementioned Stingers instead???

But the threat here is that we could inadvertently (this time) end up supplying a terrorist organization (PKK) if we just start airdropping weapons for them. And then there's the whole Turkey hates the Kurds issue. And of course, the Turks don't take kindly to us playing games with them (Benghazi, anyone?).

Can we now maybe stop making fun of the French army for surrendering & instead substitute the Iraqi army instead?

...but, but I just watched an Iraqi Army promotional video with a line of rapping (in Arabic of course) "special forces" looking Iraqi army dudes intercut with footage of Abrams tanks, personnel carriers, helos, marching battalions, etc. that made them look downright badass... in a ghetto fabulous sort of way...

Say it ain't so.

Stingers won't touch a B-1 or B-52, which is really what we should be using. You know, if this was anything more than a half-hearted gesture.

Yup, situation normal for this administration. And with the mess made by the last one to deal with, it's a real bad mix for those who have to do the crap work.

Better than McCain's plan. Is there a village disturbance in this world that he doesn't want a full Normandy invasion for?

Not likely. He's another one that should go home and sit his old ass down.

EDIT

Yeah Manpads FIM-92 is limited to visual range. BUFFS and B2 would be safe but they could always get lucky with a fighter/bomber.

You had to read for that info? He has wanted total war for every disagreement since Georgia. Probably even before that. You'd think a POW would want less war.
