PIT Commando – “Covert Military Force”

header_articulation

pit-commando11Since this figure is mostly a rehash of a 25th Anniversary G.I. Joe figure, the articulation is mostly unchanged. In this case, this is not a bad thing, since the figure has a pretty good range of motion as it is.

The figure can successfully crouch on one knee, shoulder a normal sized weapon, and clasp its arms behind its back.

The addition of the various gear the PIT Commando comes with limits some movement, but even the full flak-vest does not inhibit the figures articulation in any meaningful way.

The head sculpt can look left and right with ease, unless wearing the flak-vest, but that is to be expected. The head sculpt cannot tilt in any discernible way, to “look down the scope” or other movements, which is somewhat of a disappointment.

pit-commando12With the Rise of Cobra action figure line, Hasbro has decided to give the G.I. Joe team a unified color scheme for the first time in a long while.

For better or worse, this new camouflage scheme is a blue-based, almost “urban style” camouflage. It has different colored splotches and lines, and is generally applied well to the figure.

Whether or not this scheme would actually hide anyone outside of a naval-style setting is debatable. Personally, I really dislike the choice of camouflage, as it appears completely inapplicable to most theaters of combat. I applaud the Hasbro design teams attempt at making an actual G.I. Joe uniform, but I feel they could have done a much better, and much more realistic job at the camouflage.

The rest of the paint is applied well, the boots are uniformly black, the hands are a generic skin tone, and the head sculpts I reviewed had no noticeable problems with the paint applications.

  1. These are great figures, but the last thing i need is an army builder for the Joe team. GI Joe, for a covert force, is already too large.
