Modern Warfare 3 Review

Finally we’ll cover the Campaign mode. It picks up on the Makarov storyline. He is the terrorist leader of the ultranationalists. He is responsible for the attack on the Zakhaev International Airport and the cause of the war between Russia and the US. In this game he kidnaps the Russian Presidents daughter and starts a Chemical attack in Europe. The Campaign will have you jumping all over the world playing as several different characters and countries fighting in WW3 and trying to stop Makarov.

The best missions are when you play with Captain price and Soap. The game begins right after MW2 and you are getting Soap medical attention for his wounds that he suffered during the fight with General Shepherd. As you jump from country to country you will battle in the New York Stock Exchange, attempt to stop a chemical attack in Paris and in my favorite mission of the game, Protect the Russian President on his private jet. It gets taken hostage and eventually crashes, a very intense mission.

Once the first few hours are out of the way, things tend to settle down and your primary objective is clear. The game will have you on the edge of your seat the entire time and will have a very satisfying conclusion despite a very sad moment near the end between Price and Soap. Without spoiling too much, this will be the last mission that Price and Soap will be together. After playing with the duo for 3 games now, I’m not ashamed to admit that I was very attached to them and they go through a real emotional mission.

I reviewed this game exclusively on the PS3. The game is also available for XBOX360, Nintendo Wii and PC. Overall, this game has everything. Top Notch Graphics, Excellent Sound, a Thrilling Storyline, a Perfect Control Scheme and Loads of Replay Value. While they didn’t overhaul anything, they took what was already great and added subtle tweaks to improve the game. I score it a solid 9/10.
