G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra Game Review

Overall when I’m trying to calculate a final score for this game I’m torn.  Do I rate it like a Joe Fan or as Gamer?  I have so much that I don’t like about the game.  The camera issue will cost you your life at times and feels like it shouldn’t have gotten past the testing stage.  The vehicle controls almost made me throw me controller against the wall and I actually choose to leave one behind and continue on foot.  The graphics look like they belong to a early PS2 game and of course the game is based on my least favorite Joe universe in RoC.

Considering all the flaws,  when I go to rate it,  what does it ultimately come down too?  Did I have fun?  After all that’s what video games are suppose to be about right?  The answer is yes,  I had a blast.  I enjoyed the environments,  the missions,  the characters and the story.  It was so cool using Beachhead to shoot down a Trouble Bubble with Heavy Duty yelling Yo Joe!  The smile I got getting Intel from Dusty and hearing my orders from Stalker can’t be duplicated from a WW2 game.  The satisfaction of defeating the Boss battles like Storm Shadow and Firefly.

For this review,  I’m going to give 2 ratings.  As a game that was newly released and to be played by a non Joe fan 5/10.  As a game that was purchased at a discounted price and played by a huge Joe fanatic 7/10.  This game was reviewed exclusively for PS3 however it is also available for Xbox360,  Wii,  DS,  PSP and the PS2.
