Killzone 2 Review

The game takes place after the events of Killzone and Killzone: Liberation for the PSP.  I didn’t play either of those games and it didn’t matter.  You are on the Planet Helghan,  the home world of the Helghast.  The Interplanetary Strategic Alliance(ISA) has formed an attack on Helghan to put an end to their Emperor and halt the Helghast army.

You take the role of Sgt. Sevchenko better known as Sev.  As Sev,  you are part of a 4 man squad in the ISA Special Forces.  Your team consists of Ricco the Master Sergeant,  Corporal Garza and Corporal Natko.  Another main ISA character is Colonel Templar who commands the ISA Fleet and was the main protagonist in the first 2 games.

Without spoiling too much of the story,  I will say that you will experience a very dramatic and difficult journey to your mission.  You will have some highs and lows.  You will have a tragic death,  epic confrontations,  revenge,  a moment of clarity,  a insane Boss fight and at least one OMG moment.  The game does have a true ending however it sets you up perfectly for the 3rd game.

The game does a very good job informing you of what’s going on,  starting with the prologue.  The cut scenes and banter among your Alpha Squad add to the game and never confused me.
