Duke Nukem Forever Review

At first the 12 year old boy in you really enjoys having Duke back as he makes fun of Halo and visit’s the strip club.  After a few hours of enjoying the nostalgic Duke,  you realize that the game just isn’t very good.  I was a huge fan of Duke Nukem and tried really hard to like DNF but I just couldn’t do it.

The game takes place 12 years after Duke Nukem 3D and Vegas is being invaded by Aliens.  The President warns you to stay away from the invaders,  you of course ignore that order and it’s up to you to once again save the world.  You will travel to various stages battling aliens in First Person,  as a mini Duke after being shrunk and in your Monster Truck.

DNF features some mini games within the game however they aren’t very fun or memorable.  You can carry 2 guns at a time and can absorb Steroids to give you a hand to hand combat boost.  DNF features an ego meter that goes up when you do manly things like urinate, drink beer and look at hot babes.

The controls are pretty decent and the most enjoyable part of the game.  The graphics are sub par and look like they belong in the early 2000’s.  The audio is filled with a rock heavy soundtrack and of course Duke’s voice.
