review-sculpt01

This is one of those really bizarre mishmashes of parts. Crimson Horseman/Ashiko head, ROC Elite Viper torso and arms, Retaliation Wave 1 Storm Shadow lower legs. The equipment choices are even worse, but we’ll get into that later! Fact is, these bits don’t really go together. The short torso and half-assed sculpting of the ROC mold does not combine well with the Storm Shadow legs. It seriously looks like someone at Hasbro dumped out a bin full of available parts and chose what landed closest to one another.

review-articulation01

Related to the sculpt choices, the articulation suffers. The elbows don’t bend 90 degrees, so holding a rifle is awkward and clumsy looking. The legs have great movement but when you match it with the upper body it looks like someone in an upper body cast trying to do martial arts. It’s stiff and uninspired.

Articulation as follows: Head, shoulders, elbows, mid-forearm swivel, torso, hips, double-knees, and rocker ankles. The mid-forearm swivel makes things even worse. It wouldn’t be all that bad if the ROC mold had better range of movement. They should have used Wave 1 Storm Shadow’s entire mold with this head , which already had that armored, almost cybernetic look. It would have been more of a success.
