X Review: StarWarsGeek

I want to kick this off with the usual for most casters; 90% of what I received fit with no problems, but your mileage may vary, and neck holes may need drilled, sanded, or filled to get them to fit to the neck posts of your choice. In some cases, the holes were just a hair too small, but the hot water trick had them popping on and off with no troubles. I did not make any mods to what was sent in, however, because these are being sent off after review to Monkeywrench to be added to the pot for prizes and giveaways!

As you can see, SWG sent me quite a bit to work with. Off the bat, the cast work is crisp and clean, and there’s no flash that really requires any tending to. There seemed to me to be no bubbles in the plastic to be sanded or filled. All in all, it’s pretty top notch work! SWG also sent a couple Legends scale casts, though I had nothing to really display them with. Still, they’re great casts and for anyone who does collect that scale, he has them readily available.

As well as the heads and the boonie hat, SWG sent a couple copies of Obi-Shinobi custom weapons, a FOS and a SAW of some type. Being not as familiar with weapons as some of you, I will just put up some pictures and you can tell me what it is! I can tell you that these certainly fit in a figure’s hands much better than some other self-proclaimed 1:18 weapon casters out there, which I can certainly appreciate. It just looks better, and as an added bonus, is less likely to permanently warp your figure’s hands!

As an added bonus, SWG sent in a couple copies of his special project he’s been working on, separating female heads from their hair and offering them separately. The hairpieces will be in a flexible rubber and will be available in several color choices so that you can mix and match. The best part, in my opinion, with the flexible hair is it doesn’t restrict posing as much as more permanent hairpieces on female figures.

I want to thank StarWarsGeek for everything he’s donated to the site so far, and for providing these casts for review! You can visit his store HERE, and make sure you do, if you want quality castwork at reasonable prices! And don’t forget to mention that you “Saw it at the Fighting 1:18th!” for your 10% refund on orders over $25!
