The Last Stand Movie Review

I for one, am glad that Arnold S. is no longer the Governator of California. I missed his movies. They always had plenty of action, good looking women,  good effects, and huge budgets for those effects. This one is no different. Lets break it down.

The plot is simple. The leader of a drug cartel (Noriega) escapes from a courthouse and makes his way to the Mexican border. He is traveling in a Corvette ZR1 and at outrageous speeds. En route to his escape to Mexico, he must travel through a small town where the Sheriff (Arnold) and his Deputies (Guzman, Alexander, Knoxville) lie in wait. Noriega has help in the form of some hoods (Stormare) who come into the town early to try to prepare for his escape but run head first into Arnold as well.

In typical Arnold fashion, this movie has plenty of one liners and lots of things go boom. Some of my favorites scenes I took screenshots of below. A great Mini Gun sequence, a road block devastation, Knoxville’s gun “museum”, and lots of great car scenes. I think Arnold took a page from Stallone, and added a bit more violence behind the bullets in this movie. Not quite Stallone over the top, but plenty of blood flies.

The final thing I enjoyed about this movie is Arnold plays his age. They don’t try to make him young. He uses Brute force rather than any quickness in this movie. Reminded me of an action movie version of George Foreman. Not many punches land, but when they do………..

I guess by now, you can tell I enjoyed this movie. If you want a deep plot and depth, steer clear. But if you want shoot-em up action Arnold is known for, sit back and enjoy. I give it 7.5 out of 10 stars. My kind of movie.

I just want to say thankyou for reading Eye Saw It. Until next time……………….
