Make a 1:18 scale Chair

Materials:

Skinny sticks (popsicle sticks)
Hot melt glue gun
Paint

Procedure:  (NOTE: Click thumbnail images to enlarge)

First step will be marking our lengths.  Take 2 sticks and mark at 2 1/2” and at 4”.  Now mark on one side dots at 2/16” after each line.  Connect on an angle.

Cut all angle lines on both sticks. Mark and cut another stick at 1 inch intervals. We will need two more additional 1” lengths from another stick.

Next step you need to glue the 2 1/2” sticks and the 1 1/2” sticks in an x formation.  Make sure you glue them opposite of each other.

We now need to connect the two sides. I glued a 1” crossbar under the x and at the very top of chairback.

Now we need to glue our four 1” sticks together with a 5th 1” piece across them to hold them(center it).  That will be our seat.  Add as many more cross bars across the chair back as you see fit for style.  I used only one more.

All that is needed now is to glue the seat on and paint.

Once again, we’d like to thank Meddatron for sharing his knowledge with us, and we hope this little tutorial has shown that building diorama props need not be difficult!

You can check out his original thread here, and please feel free to join the discussion as well.
