Overview

DMZ is set in the near future, in a New York that has become a demilitarized zone due to an ongoing civil war between the federal government and the “Free States”. The island of Manhattan has been largely emptied, with only a few hundred thousand people left living there.

Art

The art is mostly by Riccardo Burchielli, with some pieces by Brian Wood (maps and the like).

Burchielli’s art has a scratchy, dirty quality to it that works perfectly with the feel of the writing and really helps sell the tone of the story.
