X Review: “Ultimate” Storm Shadow

review-sculpt01

It looks to be an all-new sculpt built off the framework that Renegades Storm Shadow brought into play. This adds bare arms and the flared shoulders, which is a nice, classic touch. Unfortunately, I don’t have a true Renegades Storm Shadow to compare him to, so I put him up against the Amazon exclusive version.

Yes, the Byung Hun Lee head does sit a little low, but it’s not as bad as everyone is making it out to be. At least, not in hand. Maybe I’m just the lucky one that got an extra head that was molded correctly. Despite the bad paint job, they did a good job making it look like the actor.

review-articulation01

Articulation befitting a ninja, used on a ninja! It’s a remarkable thing. Seriously, it’s a great use of all the joints and swivels that Hasbro has engineered over the years. He will get into pretty much whatever pose you put him in, and he will stay there. Obviously, the downside to the rocker ankles is the placement of the socket for the foot peg. And on the rocker ankles, the peg never sets deep enough, so the figures will tend to wobble and fall, At least that’s been my experience.

Still, you get everything a ninja should have. Head, shoulders, elbows, swivel-and-bend wrists, torso, hips, double-knees, and rocker ankles.
