X Review: Ultimate Roadblock

review-sculpt01

From the comparison shot below, we can see that wave 3.5 Roadblock is primarily the wave 2 Battle-Kata Roadblock with new upper arms with short sculpted sleeves. In addition, the wonky giant nailgun holsters have been replaced with something far less bulky. On his right hip he’s got a holster that’s right-sized for his pistol. And on the left, we’ve got the pouches that has come on every figure using the POC “Ultimate” Snake Eyes legs. To me, it’s a great change from the Battle-Kata version, and looks much more screen accurate than anything else in the Retaliation line to date.

The new headsculpt I’m a bit torn about. It looks okay, despite the paint apps not doing it any favors. But, I think the wave 2 headsculpt was more accurate to the Rock than this one.

review-articulation01

The articulation you’ll find in this Roadblock is no different than his wave 2 predecessor. Every joint moves freely and stays in place. If you really want your Roadblock to be ninjariffic, then he’s perfect. Head, shoulders, elbows, swivel-and-bend wrists, torso, hips, double knees, rocker ankles. Everything your chef-turned-ninja will ever need. Plus, he can hold all his guns in some good poses.
