“Got to Get Footloose” by Dr Syn.
We love this shot because, apart from telling a story in a single well-composed scene, it also brings back all the childhood memories of playing outside, creating our own epic narratives starring our favourite Joes.

“Fusillade” by K-Tiger.
This shot stood out because of its authentic period feel – it really does look like it was taken by a wartime journalist or photographer. If not for the visible joints on the figure, it could almost pass for the real thing.

“Desert Trek” by Ctrl-Z.
Do you feel that desert heat on your face? Taste the gritty sand on your lips? Do you feel even a touch of pity for poor Helix and Mouse, the sun beating mercilessly on their heads as they cross the arid wastes with no guarantee of a cool drink at their destination?
What if I told you this shot was taken at the beach, not far from the water? Sometimes the simplest setups are the most effective.

A refreshing break from the usual military-themed photos we get, Dropshipbob used his son’s vintage toys to good effect. With only a 2D backdrop and a pile of sand to set the scene, it’s reminiscent of how we used to play with our toys in the sandbox as kids.

August 2013
“Silent Treatment” by The Willoughbian.
With the attitude conveyed in Snake-Eyes’ “victory stance”, the pile of dead baddies at his feet, and even Firefly’s “oh crap” pose, how can anyone not like this shot?
