Before I give my thoughts on this classic, lets get the low down from 1337W422102:

“The “Army of Plastic” story is, obviously, a tribute to the classic Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell film Army of Darkness. I replaced the film’s hero, Ash, with Flint, whose real name is Dash. Aren’t I clever? Other bits from the movie are there as well, such as the medieval people who don’t believe him and end up thinking he’s their hero, the prosthetic chainsaw, the magic book, the pit o’ doom, some general situations, some of the timeless dialogue, and other Evil Dead series references throughout.

The story originally ran from June to July, 2009. A five-issue summer event, if you will.

A fun fact about the “Green Army Men of Plastic”: there was a G.I. Joe train set back in the ’80s, with little plastic army men. It wasn’t 1:18th scale at all. So the bit about how “Cobra hasn’t shown interest in [green army men] in decades” is actually a fact. Now you know, and knowing is half the hassle.”
