KT Review: CA:TWS Captain America

review-sculpt01

Sculpt work is your standard Hasbro fare. Lots of wrinkles, seams and textures, generally crisp and well defined. It matches the film costume well enough. I can’t see much of Chris Evans in the head sculpt. Maybe a little bit of Julian Sands, or maybe Harry Connick Jr., but not Chris Evans. This is a 1:18 figure, so I’m not gonna grouse too much over likeness.

review-articulation01

Oh, Hasbro *shakes head*. It should come as no surprise that this, being a movie-based Hasbro product, is wanting on the articulation front. He has a ball neck, with ball/hinges at the shoulders, elbows and knees, with those wacky Hasbro ball/hinge hips no one likes paired with a thigh swivel. No wrists, no ankles, no torso or waist. Range of motion is quite limited in regards to the knees and elbows. I guess it’s sufficient for the target audience (children, obviously), and it could always be worse. *thinks of Mattel*
