Invitation to HeroQuest

Earlier this month forum member Obi Shinobi shared with us his Work In Progress photos of his custom Diorama based on the Miniature Fantasy Board Game called HeroQuest only with one catch.  He’s planning on making the game 1:18th Scale!  I wasn’t privy to HeroQuest or any Miniature Game for that matter however after reading through the responses on the forum and doing some research on my own this is turning into one impressive project.  We have some big plans in place for Obi Shinobi’s Diorama in the future however in the meantime you can view some of his WIP photos on page 2 and check out his WIP thread Here Obi Shinobi has sent out a Invitation to the Fighting118th to help create Fantasy Characters for his HeroQuest project.  The idea to to help populate the game board and potentially set up a live game ... Meet Raz by Rick

“Born in the USA son of Israeli diplomats, Raz moved back to Israel while in High School and eventually served in Mosaad, Israels intellignece community. While in the IDF he was an elite urban sniper. There is a $1,000,000 bounty on his head. Since the Wars began Raz has returned to the US re-uniting with some of his childhood friends who were sons of Military brass assisting them with the CIA and SAD divisions in searching out Middle Eastern Operatives in the USA.” So ends the brief backstory of Raz, a custom figure created by forum member Rick. And, as usual, he does not disappoint. Paint work is flawless, giving a great example of how to apply a real world look to an action figure. It’s hard to tell that the dirt and dust is, yes, actually paint, and ... Read More »

What’s on JOE Mind? Episode 69

By now everybody in the 1:18th community is familiar with the successful G.I.Joe pod cast “What’s on JOE Mind?”.  Officer member cmderinchief is one of the co hosts of the show and in this edition the WOJM guys interviewed a fellow Officer member Wild Bill.  Wild Bill is one of the 4 guys who operates and runs the popular reproduction sticker site known as Cobrastickers.com.  Below is the press release on episode 69 of WOJM.   It’s election night in America…or it was when we recorded this episode in a time capsule.  Boy, a lot has sure happened since we’ve last hear from the Terrific Treo and Chuck.  Half the football season is over, we have a new baseball champion, basketball has started, hockey has…well, no one really seems to notice hockey missing, and we’ve had a Superstorm roll through the east coast.   ... Medal of Honor: Warfighter Review

The Medal of Honor series rebooted in 2010 and I really enjoyed the game giving it a high review score.  The direct sequel was released this October titled Medal of Honor: Warfighter.  Will it live up to it’s predecessor? Warfighter’s campaign mode picks up right after the original game as you continue to fight the terrorist’s to prevent them from using the PETN weapon.  You will travel to Bosnia, Somalia, Pakistan and the Philippines. The story features two soldiers as you jump back and forth between their tales.  Stump who is a Recon Marine turned Navy SEAL and Preacher who you will remember from the first game.  The game also features Dusty as he operates from a command center for most of the game. I really wanted to enjoy this game and even pre-ordered it however the campaign was a ... Read More »

Customs by MSWI

We’re all familiar with forum member MSWI’s work. He’s one of the few people I have seen that can create a true representation of some of our favorite characters, and put it into figure form using a multitude of mediums. The best part about him, though, is the fact that he’s absolutely modest about his skills, and is a very genuine person, and an all around great guy to talk to. I have, many times, expressed my jealousy at his skill, and he’s turned right around to tell me that he wasn’t good when he started, and all it takes is practice. Thanks, MSWI, for sharing the love of your craft with us at the Fighting 1:18th!   Some of these pictures date back into May, but I thought I’d round some of them all up and drop them ... December Banner Contest

It’s that time of the Month again! Wait.. what? Oh.. right.. The theme for the December Banner Contest is Free for All Here is a quote from Banner Contest runner Major Blood: “No special theme for this month.  January will start be more specific.  So bring on your best of anything for December!” The Monthly Banner Contest has been one of the most successful and favorite features here on the Fighting 1:18th.  The contest started on our original site before the infamous crash of 2011.  For those that are new to the contest,  it’s very simple.  A forum member can submit a dio picture entry into the contest.  Towards the end of the month we place all the photos together and let the forum members vote for their favorite via poll.   The winner gets the prestige and honor of having their picture on ... 1:18th Scale Snowmobiles!

Hot on the heels of the “new” 1:18th scaled product(the Huey and Humvee), comes some news on products that are actually available. Forum member SGTDUNN found these babies at Fred’s for a price of 7.95! Not a horrible price for something suitable for your snow-themed figures, and from what the images show, they have a good deal of detail to show off.     From the pictures SGTDUNN provided us, it looks like these have some real suspension going on up front, and looks like the tracks on the rear do move. Even if they don’t move, from what I can see, the track looks real enough and any roller wheels are very well hidden. These would be a great addition to your motor pool, especially if you live in an area where you have an actual winter that ... Read More »
