Zundapp sidecar project - July 2nd

Oh, and thank you for your posts!!! I learn a lot from looking at the photos!! For instance, I have yet to put insignia's on the tanks I painted, because I want to stencil them, but couldn't figure out how to make them so they don't bleed. Then I saw your brilliant stencils!! Now I am inspired...

I love how you adapted to the scale thing... one thing I am learning, you can not have true scale for some things at 1:18th scale. I understand now, how toy makers have to walk that fine line between staying true to the real thing, yet exaggerating certain proportions in order to maintain...

Zundapp sidecar project - July 2nd

I have several of the Indiana Jones German Motorcycles, which are pretty cool, more toy the replica, but still very cool. I scoured the internet looking for a 1:18 version with the sidecar and MG. No luck. I noticed on the Indiana Jones German motorcycle, there was a hole near the rear wheel...

You're right, there is great quality in these prototypes! Like one guy said, the hands are a bit big, but they will work it out. I am with you, vehicles would be kick ass!! Thanks again for the tip!

JoyToy? I think I have seen some of their stuff, very detailed, but I have not seen any WW2 stuff... do you have the inside scoop?

My early steps into real modding...

Yeah for your purpose I would think you would want 20 - 100 microns. That said, better than 100 microns will cost serious $$$. My ender 5, which is 100 microns, is fine for my needs atm. But I plan some day to get a better one. My Ender 5 cost me $350, which I consider very reasonable...

Yes indeed there was, it is the source of my sickness.... Marauder did have a kickstarter, that was fully funded.... unfortunately it did not unlock the bonus DAK soldiers.... never the less, 99% of the soldiers you see there in my collection, came from Marauder. I hope, dream, that they will...

Shhh!! The wife is watching! LOL... well I don't gamble and we don't have kids...

My early steps into real modding...

The Toybox printer looks great for making stuff with your kids! I am shocked to see it can get 10 microns resolution... a bit dubious of that? I see it going for $399, which is more than I paid for my Ender 5. But it is probably pretty automagic in it's UI and running it? The build plate is...

Tanks John! I followed the trail here, I intend to learn what I can for the experts!

Here's an example of a site with high quality models, cheap! Ready to print! Provided they have what you want... personally I find they lack in the WW2 department: https://www.gambody.com/search/tank

My early steps into real modding...

Yes sir, some are quite reasonable and ready to print. Others are reasonable and require a lot of 3D rework... and still others cost, how did you say it? Stupid money!! I try to find the good reasonable first, then less expensive high quality models and rework them, like my Zundapp sidecar...

My early steps into real modding...

I told my wife if I landed full-time work at the place I was contracting, I was going to treat myself by buying one! After a LOT of research I chose the Ender 5, relatively inexpensive, with high ratings. $350. I won't lie to you, it was (Is?) a huge learning curve, many failed prints! Luckily...
