This thread will higlight large characters like giants, trolls, ogres, golems, etc that are large characters from 1:18 scaled lines or larger figures from other lines that would "fit" in with 1:18 scaled lines.

I will also show how some of the search functinality works for species and category. The Archive is still a bit sparse for this now but I'll be filling it gradually.

Species

Trolls & Ogres
Giants
Creature - these are generally just larger animals like Wargs and such but can also have smaller things like womp rats. Its really anything that is not a real earth based animal.
Dragons
Kaiju

Categories
Creatures

Supplement lines also have a lot of bigger characters from larger scale lines that work well as 1:18

Marvel
DC
Harry Potter
Lord of the Rings
Masters of the Universe
Chap Mei/True Legends
Pacific Rim

more to come...

I do have some of these but they are still boxed up from moving, as I bring them down I will add scale pictures.

I'll start with some of the new figures shown at Toy Fair 15

Goliath from Funko's Evolve Legacy line. He looks to be about 9" tall

Masters of the Universe has some good figures that work well as giants and such. One they showed over the weekend that I really liked was Calix a rock type character. e appears to be about 8" tall.

If I do get this one though I'll probably paint him to look more like a volcanic golem.

I have a lot of those Hulks listed in the Marvel Supplement and Movie Hulk lines.
I'm always adding more for him since there are so many larger scale lines that he shows up in.
Movie Hulks are about 6" which I think make a good Hulk size.

Lizard works good in bigger scales too.

Abomination also works better at bigger sizes.

I really like the Marvel Select Abomination. He is a huge, heavy figure for $20. He is about 8" as well.

While not the tallest, Marvel Select Juggernaut is one of the heaviest chunks of action figure I've ever encountered. It's like an anvil. I could anchor my fishing boat. I'm not sure how the heck they sell it for $20-25 and not lose money on raw materials alone.

And of course, the ML & MU Sentinels & Galacti (Galactuses?), ML Apocalypse are big boys...

Heck yeah Dragons go here (except maybe the baby Smaug...)
I saw that one yesterday and thought the same thing. 67 POA!

Some other good Dragons:

Fing Fang Foom - Marvel Legends BAF

Granamyr - Masters of the Universe Clasics

Darkfire - True Legends I'm actually going to be getting this one pretty soon

Kronox - Chap Mei This one was redone for the True Legends line as a Hydra

That particular line has a Kirin, that might make for a good mount, as well as a Gaikotsu, which is a big skeleton. He comes with 3-4 head options, but I didn't post him as I couldn't get a proper bead on how articulated he's gonna be.

There is also a sister line based on Buddhist gods. Not for the budget-minded collector, but if they were ever to branch out into Hindu deities I'd be first in line for Kali.

I wish there was a good 1:4 scale skeleton. I'd use one as a gashadokura for 1:18 figures.

I imagine I could find a proper one at a medical supply type joint, but I imagine it would be expensive.
