For anyone looking to just get a few figures, it would make sense to try and combine with some other people to get into a higher category, and pay less. If we can keep shipping costs down, this would be very worthwhile.

Any takers? We'd have to decide how to distribute the stretch goals (since it's apparent that they're going to reach at least a few of them).

50 would be a great site-wide buy, but eh.

Figure you need to add in S/H from whomever gets the initial box, as I doubt they'd ship to multiple addresses. Won't be much, but still something.

The $695 would be best. 7 people x $100? Or.. some other grouping. Who'd get the three free? The 3 highest contributors?

I would probably drop $100 or something.

Yeah, keeping the shipping costs down would be the kicker. Otherwise it's not worth it.

That's one way - I figure the person who makes the order/pledge should be one of them, just because they're doing the work and taking the initial hit.

Also: if not everyone wants a full set, we could divide any stretch goals up among the group.

I'd vote for the 50 fig package as well. As for the stretch goals- we could do a raffle or a contest with them as the prizes or just sell them outright.

The other advantage to the 50 figure pledge is also that we're not locked into a particular combination of figures - it's the only one with that benefit. It also allows for stretch goal figures to be among the 50, so if people wanted that green deco guy and that goal is hit, they could get him.

Doubtful. These guys are just preorderers. I imagine the production run will allow for something to be in the store for people that don't do preorders but want the product.

I'd be in on this too. I'm going in with another guy, so having two sources would be great. I could probably toss in $50-$100. Wouldn't be until later this week...and if not then, later this month.

Looks like none of the options are off the table until it ends, so we can wait till the end I suppose, see what stretch goals get hit? Would make the $695 a better value.

Maybe update first post with people interested?

That's what me and my friend are doing. I'm probably going in on the $400 deal with him, but we're waiting to see what extras we will get.

Eddie, would you be interested at $14 a figure rather than $20?

Not really...and it's not due to the cost so much as it is the design...even at $10 I'd likely not want them...they're too futuristic for my tastes without there being any nostalgic connection...

I just don't know what I'd do with them...

We'll want to make sure it's sorted before the deadline, but yeah, we've got some time to work on it.

Good idea - done.

I'm a little bit interested. I would have to look over the whole thing again which I'll do after work today. You can put me down as a maybe or a backup right now. If it comes down to it, I'll have plenty of officer prizes for the next year or so :)

What kinda time frame are we looking at?...I might cave...I went and had a second look...you can gear them up to be less futuristic...and they are super cool...worst case, I end up with more figures I don't know what to do with in addition to the ones I already have :D

Unless you work something out with whomever is actually paying, you'd need to have money to them by April 30th, I imagine.

Is that our personal deadline?

That's when it funds and when whoever makes the order would be charged.

Within a few days of that is probably okay, but that's ultimately up to whoever makes the pledge and fronts the money.

Unless we hit on enough people wanting 50 figures before then that we have all 50 allotted, that is.

I think Obi mentioned that he is working on something similar but is anyone else interested in a project like this for their own benefit/ satisfaction?

I've been toying (haha) with the idea of something very similar to what Marauder has come up with for awhile now but didn't know how to make it work. Ideally the figures would be more generic than theirs. I'm envisioning bdu torsos like desert ambush Duke with a choice of arms (sleeves down, sleeves rolled, etc) so that they would work for multiple eras. Same thing with pants- bloused, rolled, etc.

Open to thoughts/ suggestions.

There is always lots of talk etc, what sets this apart is these figures are (allegedly) ready to go for production. They did the bulk of the 'hard' work before even showing anyone, which takes some balls I guess.

We'd all like more figures, it's just getting the 'hard stuff' nailed down first that seems to be vexing people.
