New season! Woohoo!!

Unfortunately there is nothing about the draft to be excited about for the Chiefs other than plugging rookies into the gaping holes on defense. Everything will be about the new offense and how well Patty Cakes can drive it.

Hope he's a fast learner because those first 2 games are big ones.

While the Chiefs offense looks loaded, if Patty doesn't respond well to carrying the load in games that matter, the first half of the season could be rough. They don't have a gimme until the Browns in week 9. It'll be interesting to see what the kid is made of when it counts.

I just want to see him throw to the real offense for the first time. What he did with 2nd and 3rd string players in Denver was enough to stop any panic of Patty being ready, but we have nothing to judge the explosiveness of him being paired with Kelce, Hill, Watkins and Hunt. We also have no clue how he'll respond to losing a few with an entire season ahead of him.

Man, that Chief schedule starts rough. Depending on how the Donks are this year (no one has any clue), that COULD be 6 losses in 6 games. Chargers and Jags ended last year super strong.. but could always nosedive. Niners ended unbeaten with Jimmy G!

Lets see what the Raiders sched.. oh Jesus Christ.

Raiders 2018 schedule
Sept. 10 L.A. Rams, 10:20 p.m.
Sept. 16 at Broncos, 4:25 p.m.
Sept. 23 at Dolphins, 1 p.m.
Sept. 30 Browns, 4:05 p.m.
Oct. 7 at L.A. Chargers, 4:05 pm.
Oct. 14 Seahawks (London), 1 p.m.
Oct. 21 BYE
Oct. 28 Colts, 4:05 p.m.
Nov. 1 at 49ers, 8:20 p.m.
Nov. 11 L.A. Chargers, 4:05 p.m.
Nov. 18 at Cardinals, 4:05 p.m.
Nov. 25 at Ravens, 1 p.m.
Dec. 2 Chiefs, 4:05 p.m.
Dec. 9 Steelers, 8:20 p.m.
Dec. 16 at Bengals, 1 p.m.
Dec. 24 Broncos, 8:15 p.m.
Dec. 30 at Chiefs, 1 p.m.

L, L, W, W, L, L, BYE, W, L, W, L, W, L, L, L, W, L.

6-10. Book it.

Raiders/Rams on opening Monday Night? Ouch. Raiders/49ers TNF? Ouch. Raiders/Steelers SNF? Ouch. Christmas Eve Monday Night vs Denver? Okay, maybe 1 ok game.

That's probably a wise move. There are just too many unknowns, and it could go one of many directions, as could their division foes. But at least you're rid of I-have-a-high-floor-and-equally-low-ceiling QB Alex Smith. I will enjoy watching him get crushed while toiling away for Satan... er Big Dan.

While I consider anthem protests to be pretty far down the list of things our president should be concerned with, I like that he's got some stones. Most every politician of the last century would have rolled over for the champs. I appreciate that he's sticking to his faux principles.

Pat Mahomes has thrown seven interceptions through six practices at Chiefs training camp.

He threw three picks on Wednesday alone. Chiefs OC Eric Bienemy acknowledged Mahomes has experienced "hiccups," albeit unsurprising for a first-year starter with a gunslinger's game. Beat writer Adam Teicher did note Mahomes is mixing in "his fair share of big plays in practice." Practice is an ideal setting for Mahomes to go through growing pains, of course. Regardless, he's likely to be a higher-variance option than predecessor Alex Smith.
Should be interesting.

That's great... "higher-variance option", which is a nice way of saying he's going to effectively be a rookie turnover machine.

I think he'll eventually settle down and have a nice productive career, but I don't think it'll be this year. History isn't kind to 99% of QBs making their 2nd-17th starts.

I expect a lot of int’s this season to go along with the 50yd bombs he’s been raining down in camp. Andy Reid has been walking around with the same shit eating grin of a 10yr old who just stole candy from his sister. He knows something we do not and it doesn’t seem to be a well kept secret around the league.

“Well, this is a dangerous division,” Gruden said. “I know the Chiefs very well from covering them and being good friends with Andy Reid. They’re the defending champs and rightfully so, and (Patrick) Mahomes is the real deal, you’ll see. This guy is a talented, gun-slinging quarterback.”

We’ll know if he’s a Carr wreck going into 2020, but plenty of time these next 2 seasons to enjoy the highs and lows. My heart stops every time he releases the ball since it’s going to be an amazing play for one of the teams on the field.

I really think he'll be just like DeShaun Watson in Houston last year. TONS of INTs but also tons of big plays. Hard to have one without the other. Just have Tyreek run as fast as he can and chuck the ball downfield.

Maybe is Andy gives Hunt permission to score touchdowns again they might make it past the 1st round..

El oh El

Chiefs coach Andy Reid isn't concerned that Patrick Mahomes has thrown eight interceptions across seven training camp sessions.

"I told you at the beginning of camp I don’t care about all that stuff," Reid said. "I want him to test the offense. ... If you don’t have the intestinal fortitude to go test it you’re going to be one of those quarterbacks who checks it down every time. That’s not what it’s all about."

That’s what I’m saying about Reid this year. He looks and sounds like he was handed a pair of x-ray glasses at a sorority house. He has made many statements about not turning Patty Cakes into AS11 2.0. He’d rather have Patty firing interceptions than to hesitate like the last guy was known for.

I have to agree with his assessment of the broncos. Elway is absolutely wasting that defense by not getting them a competent QB. He got lucky that Peyton didn't want to go to the NFC, and after getting another ring, he's just decided the position is optional. Keenum was a one-year wonder. I mean, he was cut by the Texans and Rams... twice each! That's not the sign of a franchise QB.

Suits me though. Just shows how much Manning elevated that team, even when he wasn't 100%.

No real lies detected, though I will say it's early to call this year a total failure.. who knows.. maybe Gruden has something up his sleeve. I liked King the punter.. but it's true, you don't need a punter getting you multiple penalties a year.. have fun in Denver!

Last year I thought we'd do great and they face planted, this year I have zero expectations and expect those to be fulfilled. I'm still stoked about the Vegas move.. it's 1000 times better than the Bay Area/Oakland.
