The only production car that could out-drag a Demon is a P90-D.
I feel like the Exorcist would have won if it wasn't for the +1hr it took to convert the Demon into drag strip mode. Replacing tires, center consoles, special fuel, ECU... Then it only wins by 2 car lengths.

Like Mustangs?
Correct.

By comparison, what do you think would have to be done to the Exorcist to make up those two car lengths... and how long would it take?
Probably all the same stuff? They kept complaining that the Exorcist has 1000bhp, but stock tires, brakes and everything else that a normal Camaro comes with. The Demon only comes with 1 seat and a huge damn crate with parts only useful for the drag strip. The Demon came in 3rd around the track they setup.

Well of course the demon came in last on a course. It's a street legal drag car. A Smart car could beat an NHRA dragster on anything with a corner.

But my comment is still accurate. A 55k Hennessy-mod on top of a 62k camaro hardly qualifies as a production car. Chevy doesn't have the stones to put a car like that into real production. Hell, they can't even decide if they want to keep making a regular camaro or not.

Except the Demon was no longer street legal once the contents of the crate were put onto the car. You should watch the episode because it’s pretty dang cool.
