Are you guys still seeing the Unimax Armor in stores?

I ran by Target today and saw 1 M1A1 Abrams and 1 M3A2 Bradley (Both in desert livery).

I hadn't seen them recently, so it's good to see they are still stocking them.

I never did see the Unimax LAV @ Target though, only at TRU under their "Assault Force" or whatever brand.

I see a pair of them in each store and it seems like each store sticks with a particular livery. Last week two Targets had them down to $20 each, but I let Blanket grab one set and I never went back for the other.

I would prolly pick them up again if my home life hadn't changed so drastically. Well, that and the fact I still have a gutted 21st Century one I need to do something with.

I picked up 6 different things at Target, they had a bunch of those skate-park sets for $5 on clearance and some other things. I walked around the store, slowly putting them down, realizing I didn't need them/want them that much.

I ended up with 1 little dio set and some bins for my car. I can honestly say leaving stuff behind is more rewarding than buying it.

our local target still gets the bradleys and m1a1's in both desert and green.

Ain't that the fucking truth. You get that gloomy feeling while heading towards the doors, but once you get outside you feel much better than if you had bought it.

I think my new addiction has taken firm control considering I look at a toy I kinda want to buy and tell myself how many boxes of ammo that is.

I keep my targets- that seems to help with the "not much to show for it" portion. And .45 is a bit more expensive than 9mm. Although, WM has it for 35 buck per 100, which isn't bad at all. I'm stocking up while I'm in Va. The taxes are much, much better here. Hopefully I can finds some cheap .30 carbine too.

If that's not an Eddie post, I don't know what is.

I know what you mean though. I put 250 rounds through my 1911 with three 8 round mags. It's not difficult to do at all.

Yeah, I try to limit myself to 1 or 2 trips a month since it's about $40 per trip. No way in hell I could still buy every toy I kinda want and go shooting. Shooting makes you walk away with empty hands and wallet, but you are walking tall. With toys, you walk away with empty pockets, full hands, but you want to go hide it and yourself from the world. Strip clubs have you walking out with empty pockets, a head full of stored visuals and aching balls.

I avoid the strip clubs, limit my shooting and only buy the toys that I actually want. Life is about balance, right?

Something like that. Get a C&R license and then talk to me about empty wallets… I've bought more firearms in the last two moths than I have in the previous 5 years of gun collecting.

Hey, they shoot just fine. And tell me how else are you going to get a P38 pistol shipped to your door for just over 150 bucks?

Yeah I always heard good things about the Tigers (Zimmerit! Or something), but never saw one in stores. I saw the Sherman's, but that take never impressed me.

I need to dig up my old WWII stuff.. it's all buried somewhere in a bin.

But yeah, wonder why they stopped making the WWII figs.. you'd think they'd sell them online too still.

I have not seen any the last few times I was at Target but I only get there maybe every 3 weeks or so. I don't use my car too much. They have the usual suspects when they do have stock though.

I'm wondering what the Unimax presence will be with the new Target "refresh" they are doing this weekend. I haven't seen the new Assassin's creed figures yet.. still lots of Crysis alien figures around though.

It's pretty telling when Target has Unimax vehicles, but no figs and Joes, but no vehicles.

The WWII stuff is readily available online, but you have to buy them in 6pks of figures and the vehicle prices are jacked up.

You get 6 US or 6 Germans, but the are packed as 3 of each version. So 3 green Germans (awesome) and 3 spotted Germans (horrible) for around $40.

Atleast the US guys match each other.

Ammo is damn expensive though, and it is kinda hard having naught to show for it after a day at the range. Is a lot of fun though, 9mm is ridiculously cheap too, so you're lucky.

.22, my man. I know it's a gross violation of my personal "sack-up and use a real caliber" rule, but for plinking (and accuracy improvement) you CANNOT beat .22LR. You can buy thousands of rounds for a pittance and burn through them.

My oldman got a Sig Sauer Mosquito here recently. Loud little fuck for a .22LR.

Of the Walther variety.

KT would have your head ;)

You surely didn't buy a C&R-compliant P38 for 150?

It was listed next to the Nagant pistol, and 91/30, so I think my eyes jumped to one of those prices. Still, 300 is pretty cheap for a pistol. At least in MD.

For anything other than something .22LR, you're right.

I've heard they're great shooters. I'd rather have one of those than a M92 (I don't like the grips). Plus, hell, it's got some history to it. And it's less complicated than a Luger.

Yeah, but it's not nearly as sexy as a Luger. P08s look like they might just leap from their owner's hands and beat the poor fuck in front of them to death.

Especially the artillery variant.
