I found this WWD "Ultimate Gorgon" at a TRU in Melbourne on the weekend for AU$49, and holy crap it's a cool toy.
Sorry for the lousy phone pics; I'll take better ones soon.

It "only" has 14 points of articulation, but these give it an excellent range of motion.

My only 2 gripes are that the tail isn't posable (it's molded in a permanent curve), and that the tail needs more weight for proper balance.

First pic shows a Joe for comparison. Scale would be correct for a small T.rex, but since the Gorgosaurus is an even smaller cousin, this toy is apparently scaled to 5" figures.

Most people won't care, as it looks "right". You could say it's a Tarbosaurus or some other intermediate-sized tyrannosaurid. :)

There's also a sound feature, with excellent roars and growls that don't sound like they came from a cheap sound effects library.

Nice! Actually looks really frakkin cool.

You should take some excellently crafted photos and send it to your local newspaper with the tag line of "T Rex in Australia"

Oh man, super jelly.

The smaller ones have turned up on shelves here in NZ. But I really must have Ultimate Gorgon (the Gorgosaurus)

Primeval like a motherfucker. Just needs a paint overhaul.

All I've seen is the bagged mini dinosaurs.

Nearer to 60 on Amazon, and almost all of them are from UK-based sellers.

I'm wondering if it's even going to be available a US mass-market retail?

I've seen it in the states, there was one at the Toys R Us in Hagerstown, MD, it was going for 29.99. Definitely better than the JP Allosaurus for that price
